ActionAid is an international organisation whose aim is to fight poverty worldwide. It helps people in using their own power to fight poverty and injustice. Formed in 1972, for over 40 years, the organisation has been growing and expanding to where it is today — reaching out to over 15 million of the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people in 45 countries worldwide, helping them to fight for and gain their rights to food and land, women rights, democratic governance, climate change, education, emergencies and conflict, HIV and AIDS and youth.
