South Asia is one of the most vulnerable area affected by climate change impacts due to its geography coupled with high levels of poverty and population density. Areas of vulnerability include food and agriculture, fi sheries, human health, coastal areas just to name a few. This study aims at assessment of financial requirements for South Asia, both for mitigation and adaptation. This has been done by reviewing methodologies used in estimating the fi nancial requirements and underlying assumptions in the estimates and reviewing existing estimates of the fi nancial needs for mitigation and adaptation in South Asia and providing proposed appropriate methodology for estimating the fi nancial requirements and estimates
from different studies.
