An Organisation for Socio-Economic Development (AOSED) was established by a group of socially committed enthusiasts in 1999 for environment conservation and to ensure people’s rights to access natural resources in the Southwest coastal region of Bangladesh. The region has an unique ecosystem but is prone to disasters because of its geographical location. The organisation has been assisting local communities in coping with the changes by undertaking various developmental programmes and projects.
Focus Areas:
Safe water rights, Sanitation, Health and hygiene, Conservation of mangrove forest (Sundarbans) and Coastal ecosystem, Capacity development of Communities, Climate Change and Sustainable agriculture.
