Centre for Peace and Justice Pakistan (CPJP) is a non-profit organisation which was established in 1995 and was registered in 2010 at Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan under Trust Act. CPJP was formally organised by the group of Lawyers, scholars and practitioners from diverse backgrounds ranging from politics to media and academia to writers and intellectuals. CPJP is an independent organisation that works for strengthening the Peace and Justice in Pakistan. CPJP works with Student Unions, Labor organisations, NGOs, Civil Society organisations, Political Parties, Academia Print and Electronic media. CPJP has established the unique example of creativity, credibility and commitment through civic courage, transparent practices and highest professional standards.

CPJP has been established with the following objectives.

  1. To impart education, skills and training on Peace and Justice in the increasingly intolerant society of Pakistan to stakeholders’ organizations including Communities, Student Unions, Labor organizations, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, Political Parties, Academia, Print and Electronic Media
  2. To enable them to effectively participate in the process of building a more just, compassionate and peaceful global society
  3. To especially focus on building peaceful communities in rural areas of Pakistan and reduce the level of violence and conflict
  4. To create awareness among relevant stakeholders for the elimination of the role of and use of women and children as tools and victims of conflict
  5. To reduce the post conflict impacts on women and children through advocacy and modern conflict resolution techniques
  6. To promote alternative and more equitable systems for justice and Peace
  7. To carry out research on peace and justice issues of the country
  8. To provide legal support to victims of regional conflicts especially the maritime captives and detained fishermen of Pakistan and neighboring countries
  9. To strive for providing the rights and justice to the people of minorities and scheduled castes in Pakistan
  10. To campaign for enforcement of laws, regulations, and policies for a sustainable and just society of Pakistan where all people are treated fairly regardless of race, color, national origin, or income.

Focus Areas: Research and Analysis, Training and Capacity Building, Advocacy on Peace and Justice, Countering Violent Extremism, Forced conversion, Child marriages and Hindu marriage registration bill.
