Climate Resilience Building Planning Through District Climate Resilience Plan in Madhya Pradesh, India

Local level planning is indispensable to address climate risks, vulnerabilities and resulting impacts. Better planning through mainstreaming of climate change guidelines is necessary to meet future challenges. District Climate Resilience Plan (DCRP) attempts to do the same by integrating climate resilience requirements and approaches into the district-level planning framework. The DCRP formulation is backed by sound desk research and consultation with key sectoral departments at district level and panchayat officials. DCRP would outline contours of an implementation plan of key sectors and delve deeper to provide specific recommendations.

Objective

To create a set of guiding principles/action plan prepared through participation of local actors that will enable development practitioners to effectively look at developmental activities at the district level in different primary sectors through climate lens.
