Defining Role of Agriculture in South Asia

Agriculture plays a central role in South Asian economies, lives and livelihoods. Climate change impacts has been severe in South Asia and the agriculture dependent population of the region has been severely hit. The report describes broader impacts of climate change on agriculture and food production in the region. The report gives an account of importance of agro-ecological approaches in adaptation to climate change as well as outlines mitigation opportunities in agriculture. The report concludes by providing policy recommendations to address impacts of climate change on the sector in the region.
