Local Solutions for Climate Adaption Evidences for Policy Making

Date & Time: 4th October 23 & 2.30 PM to 4.00 PM India Time

The webinar is being jointly organized by CANSA and partners of the Eco Village Development project – INFORSE South Asia, Grameen Shakti in Bangladesh, Center for Rural Technology in Nepal, IDEA in Sri Lanka, and INSEDA in India. The project is coordinated by DIB, Denmark, and is funded by CISU, Denmark

Successful adaptation results in increased resilience and adaptive capacity and reduced vulnerability in the context of a changing climate. However, adaptation needs could shift as the climate changes, and as development pathways alter the vulnerability and adaptive capacity of communities. Local solutions are known to have adaptation co-benefits – create opportunities, build capacities, diversify livelihood options, improve skill sets, create awareness, and mobilize communities. Yet the local solutions remain underfunded with low policy recognition and limited outreach. In the current webinar, the implementers of local solutions would share insights and learnings in engaging with climate issues and the local solutions delivering adaptation co-benefits.
