On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), in collaboration with Environment Governed Integrated Organisation (EnGIO) and Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA), will host the release of the Kolkata Climate Action Plan (KCAP) for stakeholder consultation.

The programme will include the formal release of the KCAP by Sri Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble Mayor of Kolkata, Minister-in-Charge of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal, and Chairman of the KCAP Committee. A dedicated website for the KCAP will also be launched during the event.

The event is expected to see participation from dignitaries including senior members of consulates, Mayor-in-Council members, KMC officials, environmentalists, academics, and policy experts.

Following the release, a panel discussion will be held focusing on the key components of the KCAP and the way forward for climate action in Kolkata.
