About The Webinar:

South Asia faces disproportionate and escalating climate impacts – including intensified floods, extreme heatwaves, water scarcity, and ecosystem degradation, that threaten millions of lives and livelihoods.

COP31 is helmed as the implementation COP, with amajor focus on the Grant based finance and tripling Adaptation Fund – despite promises of ambition and inclusivity, unclear leadership signals raise doubts about its capacity to build consensus.

However, CANSA looks forward to engaging and make the most of the opportunity at COP31 to get favourable outcomes.  For that CANSA is  proposing 1.5 hour-long webinar to strengthen key demands emanated from members’ engagement in the COP 31.

Objectives:

  • ● To present the key demands for COP31 as a direct outcome of various thematic issues in the climate discourse across South Asia.
  • ● Collecting further inputs from members on the identified demands to finalize them and take common demands for South Asia to COP31.
  • ● Strategizing for upcoming opportunities during COP31 to keep us on track with our commitments.

  • ● Harjeet Singh – L and D and Fill the Fund.
  • ● Manjeet Dhakal – LDC
  • ● Md Shamsuddoha – Adaptation
