South Asia is ranked as the second most undernourished, malnourished, and food insecure region in the world. It is home to over one-fifth of the world’s population and around 50% of employment in South Asia is
generated in the agriculture sector.1 While the region has been successful in achieving steady growth in agricultural production in the last few
decades, it is now facing immense threat from climate change, which will erode its gains and will further impact food security and nutrition among the poor populations.
