Glasgow: Time for solidarity and ambition
CAN South Asia works together with partner organizations in the South Asian region, CAN International and CAN regional groups, to ensure the best possible outcomes at the UN Climate Change negotiations when governments meet as the Conference of Parties (COP) under the UNFCCC. As members of the climate action network, we identify, monitor and shape the course of climate negotiations with a view to ensure that governments are accountable to deliver on the most ambitious and far-reaching commitments that addresses the climate crisis.
CAN South Asia uses a variety of political advocacy and communication tools, that include our website, social media platforms, the quarterly newsletter, webinars, press conferences and strategy meetings.
Fighting for an inclusive and accessible COP26
Hosted by the UK government together with the Italian government, COP26 is scheduled from 30 October to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, UK.
CAN South Asia has sustained pressure on governments in the region to come prepared to Glasgow with the strongest levels of political will to address the climate crisis. By focusing on the needs of communities worst impacted by the climate crisis, CAN South Asia engages through the working groups to plan and implement its strategy on a variety of issues pertaining to the COP negotiations such as on: climate finance, adaptation, mitigation, loss & damage, migration, energy transition, and many others.
